Good day folks.... it is now Wednesday the 29th of June. All is neat. People are still killing people, Donald Trump is a candidate for POTUS, and I think Hillary has it in the bag. I hope for the sake of everyone, America doesn't make this mistake again. Who's going to be the big surprise front runner next time around? Kanye West? I don't really see why not.
People died in an attack that took place in Istanbul the other day. I don't like it when people do this kind of stuff. I don't know where to stank on the whole "why don't we just go and blow all them muthafuckas up" idea. I personally think it's not that easy, and that's why we don't do it. Too many innocent lives at stake, plus we have other allies that have different ideas on how to deal with terrorism. As much as we think we are world police, it's just not really the case. War used to be good for the economy, this is something I was taught in Junior High, however as we have seen, it's just not that good for us anymore. America doesn't really rally behind the troops like we did in the first couple of world wars. Hell, we didn't even rally behind the troops coming back from Vietnam. I don't want to not be with the country, but we are as divided as we ever have been, and I'm not sure the initial design was ever really able to stand the test of time without eventually turning into communism.
Anyhoo, life isn't bad, I have a vacation coming up in late July. I get to go see some of the folks that I graduated high school with 25 years ago. Should be fun. Not to mention the state fair will be in town, which I haven't been privy to for a long time. Possibly since 1991, when Garth Brooks, Tricia Yearwood, and Winger played the fair. Wouldn't it be cool to see that lineup again!
World Satire
We will be going over world events, social media, music and entertainment, politics and religion. Really nothing goes untouched. While discussing, we will also be attempting to shed light and maybe even develop a smile or something to think about. I don't take myself incredibly seriously, and I don't expect you to. If I make you cringe or you have feedback for me, I would love to hear it.

Today in the world
I don't really follow elections all the time, and in the past I have voted on the Democrat side. The common consensus would be that we are all voting or the lesser of two evils. Donald Trump is most likely going to succeed as the Republican party nominee. Hillary Clinton most likely will be the Democratic nominee. I am not sure how oddball this country has become that the Don has been taken seriously at all. It seems very peculiar to me. Now I know that Hillary seems to have her own issues, but when it comes down to it, as everything unfolds, this is all a ploy just to hand the presidency to her. Bernie Sanders has a couple interesting ideas, but I wouldn't consider him to be a really viable candidate.
I am fairly sure I will never run for president. Why? For one, I don't know how to do the job. I can talk to people, as I do tend a bar, but I don't really know much about foreign policy or how to be a mayor, much less a president. For two, I don't want to have half of America pissed off at me at any given time. If you look at Facebook you can see so many people venting and saying how much Obama has ruined the country. Obama hasn't ruined shit. If America is ruined, it is because of everybody. I don't think it is though. The system is eventually going to fail because it is a finite system. There will be a ceiling, and when we hit it, things will fail. Perhaps we have already hit it. I will have to reevaluate that in the next year or so. In any event I am not worried that anything major will happen. There will be another poster child for half of America to be pissed off at any given time, and another one after that. I am going to get ready for work now, because people will come to the bar. They will come to the bar when they are happy, sad, pissed, angry, or aloof. They will come to the bar just because the alcohol is there. I will make sure they leave happy.

Water on Mars....
Is anyone really amazed that we found something outside of out planet? It was, in fact, just a matter of time. According to some by-law written in 1967 or something, that Mars Rover is not supposed to go close to this water. It is about 40-50 km away from where it is right now, but with the amount of microbes and debris the Rover may have picked up in it's travels, we cannot risk contamination. I'm mot opposed to this really, but it is a fact that we need to get a sample of this water using some sort of aseptic technique. This means we have to get another grant to build something that can make the trip again and have something, be it some kind of needle or container to withdraw some of this water, then somehow make it back to Earth. Sounds easy, eh?
In today's world when the biggest news of the day is that the pope had a meeting with some nitwit that denied to give a marriage license to some same sex couple, it is imperative that we find something else to strive toward. Imagine we get a sample of this water and find that there are microbes that exist in it that also exist here. Wouldn't that throw everything we "know" on it's ear? I looked on the web and saw that others have already had this idea, although I just came up with it myself a couple days ago. This would kind of work towards a hypothesis that perhaps a bunch of spores spread out because of something that happened billions of years ago, thus some landed here and the Earth's natural flora supported it until it thrived, whereas the Martian surface did not have the resources for these things to evolve. For those that know anything about Archea, which usually are extremophiles that live in alkali water, geysers, ice and volcanos, you know these things can live anywhere. Analog building blocks of life.
Anyhoo, that's all I'm going to mention today, I bid anyone who reads this peace, and have a good day.

Day 1: The initiating
So, this is going to be the first installation in what I hope grows to be something at least a little bit interesting. As some of you know, or some of you may not, my name is James West. I am a child of the seventies and grew up in the lovely state of Montana. I am going to attempt to inspire thought and evoke a feeling every once in a while through making fun of the world and pointing out the obvious.
I am not the smartest person around, but I understand a lot. I am not religious, but we can get into that later. I have a family that makes my world a better place, and I tend bar in a pretty nice place. I get to meet and engage a lot of people on a daily basis, and get their insight on things I haven't thought about, so sometimes I might come with information I have just received.
In any event, I encourage anybody who stumbles across this page to check it out and give feedback and/or opposing opinions.
